I was gonna rope Paul into the article too but didn't want to stuff a whole second article into that one. Seems to me a lot of Paul's work is sanitizing the more radical elements of Christ for the mass conversion of those relatively unoppressed Gentile groups. The argument that the established political order is made by God's good intention was apparently a pretty convincing one.
